How to use the word finder

  1. Enter available letters. For example, poople can produce four-letter combinations without reusing a letter more times than it appears.
  2. Choose a length and add known facts. Starts with, ends with, included letters and excluded letters can be combined in one search.
  3. Use a pattern for exact positions. A pattern such as p??p keeps P in the first and fourth positions while leaving the middle letters open.

Search results stay on this canonical page rather than creating indexable filter URLs. That makes the tool quick to reset and keeps temporary letter combinations out of search results.

Dictionary scope

What words are included?

The general corpus contains 1,300 three-letter, 5,470 four-letter and 12,578 five-letter entries. Words are normalized to lowercase English letters and duplicates are removed at build time.

The source is the MIT-licensed word-list project. It is broad enough to contain uncommon forms, so a match is not a promise that every crossword, classroom or competitive word game accepts it.

Optional game context

What does “closest to POOP” mean?

The closest-to-POOP sort appears only for four-letter searches. It first surfaces words that also exist in Poople Today’s validated ladder graph, ordered by their computed minimum distance to POOP. Words outside that game-specific list can still be useful general matches; they simply do not receive a Poople distance.

The word finder remains a general tool. If you want to use those four-letter results in a puzzle, open today’s Poople game or practise another route in Poople Unlimited.

Word Finder FAQ

How do I find words using only the letters I have?

Enter your available letters, choose a word length and select Find words. A result can use each letter only as many times as it appears in your letter set.

What does the pattern field do?

The pattern fixes known letter positions. Enter letters where you know them and use a question mark for each unknown position, such as p??p for a four-letter word.

Which word lengths are supported?

The first release searches 1,300 three-letter words, 5,470 four-letter words and 12,578 five-letter words.

Are all results valid in every word game?

No. Dictionaries and house rules differ between games. Treat the results as a general English reference and check the rules of the game you are playing before submitting a word.
